Appcognito is a free, private porn blocker for Android. It blocks over 750,000 known adult sites on your device and watches for explicit content a site list can miss, with nothing about what you browse ever leaving your phone.
Two defenses work together, so the gaps in one are covered by the other.
We maintain a large, curated list of adult domains. Every site your apps and browsers try to reach is matched against it, and the connection is dropped before the page can load. The match is exact, so legitimate sites are never caught by accident.
A site list can only know the sites it has seen. Keyword blocking reads the text on your screen in real time and steps in the moment explicit content appears, even on a brand new site or inside an app, then closes it.
A private filter runs on your device. It checks each request against the blocklist, then quietly drops anything that matches. No traffic is sent to us along the way.
It is built in and ready, on the free plan too. One tap arms the protection.
A private on-device filter compares each domain to the blocklist. Your browsing is never routed through our servers.
If a site is on the list, the connection is blocked and the page simply does not load. Everything else passes through untouched.
Blocked by Appcognito
For the content a site list has not seen yet, Appcognito reads the words on your screen and acts the moment something explicit appears.
When the Adult Content block list is on, Appcognito checks the visible text on your screen in real time. It reads text only, never your photos, images or video.
New sites appear every day, and explicit content shows up inside apps too. Keywords step in where a domain list has no entry yet, closing the content the moment it appears.
The check happens on your device and is thrown away instantly. No screen text is stored, logged or transmitted to us or anyone else.
Blocking adult content should not mean handing over what you do. It never does here.
